REAL is easy to use
There’s
no safety pin’s, soaking or boiling any more with real nappies, they’re
so simple to use. They come in lots of bright and trendy styles that do
up easily with poppers, Velcro or little plastic grips so the nappy
fits snugly. A liner goes inside the nappy to keep baby dry and catch
solids. Most liners are biodegradable and can be flushed away. Washable
liners are also available. To prevent leaks - waterproof nappy wraps
are available in trendy designs to cover the nappy.
Watch the pennies
-You would use between 4,000 – 6,000 disposables from birth to
potty. (2.5 y)
-Total cost of using disposables would be between £700 – over £1000.
-Average cost of purchasing & home laundering real nappies(including nappies & wraps) would be £184- £300
-You would save between £400-£800 using real nappies & even more if used for a 2nd or 3rd child.
Some Nappy Facts
-The UK throw away around 3 billion disposable nappies every year that’s
8 million a day.
-No soaking or pre-wash needed simply wash at 60’
-Home washing cost as little as £1 per week.
-Can be washed with your family’s everyday wash
-You would only need around 20 real nappies from birth to potty.
-There are many different types, styles & designs with easy to fasten
poppers, velcro or grips.
Disposable
nappies make up about 2.6% of the average household rubbish in a year.
This is equivalent to the weight of nearly 70,000 double-decker buses
and if you were to line them up from front to end the buses would
stretch from London to Edinburgh.
More and more parents are saying
no to disposable nappies as they realise that real nappies are a
natural, easy and a cost-effective alternative to disposable nappies –
and they don’t cost the earth!
Using real nappies reduces the amount
of waste sent for incineration and also the amount of energy and
non-renewable resources used to produce disposables.
By caring for the environment now, you're caring for the future environment of your baby.
